An Introduction to Carol Todd
Brave in the midst of adversity, Carol Todd, mother of the late Amanda Todd, is an inspiration, an innovator, and a guiding light to those devastated by tragedy and driven to protect children from online danger. Amidst the grief of her daughter’s suicide less than a year ago, Carol has forged ahead to catalyze a movement which started in Canada and is expanding worldwide.
Carol keeps things simple and straightforward—we need to do whatever is possible, as soon as possible, to help our kids become safe on and off social networks. She has dedicated her life and her The Amanda Todd Legacy to attain this goal.
Carol understands the dangers of cyber bullying, sexual cyber abuse, and crime advertising all too well as her daughter Amanda fell prey to an online sexual predator and his associates. Subsequently, Amanda succumbed to suicide after an extreme case of cyber bullying took her to the brink less than a year ago. Since that time Carol has led the fight to end the madness online that hurts and sometimes kills children and youth.
Carol Todd has been a major influence and ally of Raffi Cavoukian and Sandy Garossino, founders of www.RedHoodProject.com, my partners Professor Jane Karwoski, Terry Monoson-Nico, and Susan Gunelius our CMO. Carol has inspired the world’s most important global news source on exploitation of minors, “Exploitation News”.
