This week`s podcast features Dr. Jeff Temple, an award-winning researcher, clinical psychologist, and professor with the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Dr. Temple’s research is focused broadly on intimate partner violence, and he specializes in teen dating violence and psychological abuse and aggression. Dr. Temple is also the Vice Chair for the Texas Task Force on Domestic Violence and a member of the School Board for the City of Galveston.
I couldn’t have asked for a more experienced and knowledgeable guest to discuss the issues we covered in this episode:
- Teen sexting
- Sexual assault
- Digital footprints and teen’s online activities
Dr. Temple is known for his scientific, no-nonsense approach to these topics, and during our chat, he provides a relevant context for his research findings by discussing cases recently highlighted in the media (e.g., teens facing felonies for sexting and the Stanford swimmer sexual assault case). More importantly, he provides critical information for teens, parents, and educators.
